Il gruppo Crack

Il Gruppo Crack
Galleria Gracis, Milan
March 20 – June 20

The Gracis Gallery is pleased to announce that from March 20 to June 20, 2025, it will host an exhibition dedicated to the Crack Group, a completely new exhibition project with a strong historical-critical focus curated by Professor Laura Cherubini.

Eight Italian artists with different stylistic orientations came together for a brief period in 1960. They were the leading figures of the Roman art scene: Pietro Cascella, Piero Dorazio, Gino Marotta, Fabio Mauri, Gastone Novelli, Achille Perilli, Mimmo Rotella, Giulio Turcato, and the poet and critic Cesare Vivaldi.

The exhibition tells the story of this unique artistic experience for the first time, which represented a conscious break from the recent past and contemporaries, thus taking a polemical stance against the prevailing climate. The innovative and unprecedented exhibition project aims to analyze a transitional moment, crucial for the revision and development of artistic languages at an international level, such as the period between the Fifties and Sixties.
